Barbara Barnett Puckett left this world peacefully in her home at Howe, Texas on November 14, 2018. Barbara was born February 22, 1934, daughter of Charlie and Elizabeth Barnett in the YL community of Muleshoe, Texas. She married Richard Puckett on December 10, 1950 in Muleshoe. She lived in Muleshoe most of her life, moving to Howe in 2008.
She was a second mother to several nieces and nephews and anyone else that needed one.
She was born with an adventurous spirit and was an expert in creating all-around good times for her family and friends. Barbara was a lover of nature - bird watching in particular - and found pleasure in the simplest things in life. She never met a stranger and gave selflessly to anyone in need.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Richard Franklin Puckett; parents, Elizabeth Willhour Barnett and Charlie Barnett; her son, Charles Lance Puckett; her grandson, Charles Keenan Puckett; and brother, Richard Barnett.
She is survived by 3 children - Logan and Kathy Puckett of Howe; Cynthia Puckett of Howe; Larry and Cheryl Puckett of Muleshoe; her brother, Donald Barnett of Edmond, Oklahoma; and sister, Diana Barnett Stewart (Suzie) of Canyon Lake, Texas; Amanda and Nick Reed of Frisco, Texas; Kalam and Lisa Puckett of Muleshoe; and Kayna Puckett of Clovis, New Mexico; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, Van Alstyne, Texas.
