Edwin L. "Ed" Parnell, 74, died on April 5, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer and to honor his wishes, was cremated.
His memorial services was at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2009 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Bob Chandler officiating. A reception after the service at the American Legion Lakeside #231.
Ed was born August 15, 1934 in Rocky, Oklahoma to Oscar Clyde and Francis Lemmon Parnell. He married Marlene Amell on August 9, 1954 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ed was retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of service and then owned and operated Ed's Spraying for 20 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Denison.
Surviving him are his wife, Marlene Parnell of Denison; mother Francis Parnell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sons, Kenny Lee Parnell of Denison and Rick Parnell of Pottsboro; sisters, Glenda Lewis of Enid, Oklahoma; Delmar Kemp of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Neva James of Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Sam, Kristi, Jessica, Phoebe, Olivia and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, daughter Pamela Kay Parnell and brothers, Tom and Donald Parnell.
