Jerry McDannald, 70, of Collinsville, Texas and of West Yellowstone, Montana, passed away September 15, 2007 in Collinsville, Texas.  He was born June 21, 1937 in Houston, Texas, a son to Gordon Cleaves and Lily Mae (George) McDannald.  Jerry was raised and educated in Texas and had attended the University of Oklahoma and Southwest Texas State University.   He became involved in the RCA Rodeo and the PRCA Rodeo.  He rodeoed all over the country, including an Exhibition Rodeo in South America.  When he wasn't in the Rodeo arena, he was working his family ranches and oil drilling business (Mac.Drilling). His family had ranches in Mexico, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas.
Jerry married Harlene (Brannon) in 1955 in Houston, Texas.  She passed away in 2003.  Jerry and Harlene moved to West Yellowstone in 1995 after retiring, enjoying Yellowstone Park and the mountains of Montana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Harlene; sister, Jolynn; and son, Mike McDannald Jr.
Survivors include his sister, Jane Russell, of Collinsville, Texas; his companion and sweetheart, Lana Langford, of Collinsville, Texas; grandchildren Michelle Williams, Donna McDannald, Gerald Michael McDannald III; nieces Felicia Martinez, Christine French, Kim McKinney, Alexandra Schoenemann, June Russell, Joan Wimberly; nephews Nicholas Brailas and Mac Russell; and two great-grandchildren Reed and Rachel Williams.
Visitation is Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Dahl Funeral Chapelin Bozeman, MT.  Graveside services 1:30 PM on Wednesday at Fir Ridge Cemetery in West Yellowstone, Montana.  Reception following graveside at the Roost Restaurant in West Yellowstone, Montana.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Rodeo Cowboy Alumni, John Hatley Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 9368, Ft. Worth, TX 76147-2368.
