On Monday, August 26, 2019 the Lord called Rose Marie Howell, 83, to her heavenly home after a courageous fight with cancer.  Rose, formerly of Melissa, Texas, was born May 27, 1936 in Hamburg, Iowa, daughter of Thomas and Jessie Finnell.  She moved to Texas in the mid-1960s, where she raised her family and pursued her passion of riding and showing horses.  Rose was a fun loving compassionate lady who cherished her relationship with her family which included many nieces and nephews.  Rose loved traveling especially in sunny Arizona.  She was once a member of the Collin County Mounted Posse.
Rose Howell leaves behind her son, Mike Ware and wife, Yvonne, and children, KP, Michelle, Jessica, Michael, Jr.; and daughter, Jerri Webb and husband, Jeff and their daughter, Tori; daughter, Jackie Howell Rollins and husband, Denny, and children, Kierstin and Tristin; grandkids, Austin and Zoe; and 11 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her traveling companion and good friend, Frank Rash, of Beatrice, Nebraska; and care-giver, Karyn Feltner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James L. Howell; and son, Cooper L. Howell.
Rose was cremated according to her wishes.  A Celebration of Life was held in her home town of Hamburg, Iowa in 2020.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any cancer organization of your choice.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
