TOM BEAN - Born December 3, 1947, in Tom Bean, Texas, son of Jimmie Hunter Griffin and Wyatt Griffin, Richard Griffin was deceased June 17, 2014.
Richard graduated from Tom Bean High School in 1966 and retired from the military after 22 years of serving the country he loved. He received many medals, decorations, honors, commendations, and promotions during his service and was considered a soldier of valor and integrity.
After retirement, Richard was co-owner of a successful company in Florida for four years and then retired again to return home to his circle of family and friends. His love and compassion for family and friends will be missed more than words can express. Always ready to help those that needed it, he was loved by many. He and his wife enjoyed retirement peacefully by the lake at Sherwood Shores. His wit, charm and humor entertained family and friends throughout his life.
Richard is survived by his loving family; wife, Bonnie, and her three sons, Chris, Doug, and Marc, and six grandchildren. Additional survivors include his mother, Jimmie Hunter Griffin, father, Wyatt Griffin and stepmother Lela; siblings include sister, Jean Sims and husband Joe; brothers, James and wife Florene, Charles, and Sam; aunts, Maudine Hertzog, Faye Morrison and Darlene Stephens; uncle, Junior Hunter; nephews, John and Eddie Griffin, Jeffrey Sims and Daniel Griffin; nieces, Jana Castellano, Tracie Carlton, Amie and Morgan Griffin.
We all love you and will miss you, rest in peace.
