He was born February 29, 1944 in Mississippi to George Terrell and Dorthea Melton Cummings.  He was one of 14 children born to the family of 7 boys and 7 girls.  He started out in very humble beginnings but throughout his life became very successful by working hard in the oil field industry, from testing pipes to moving rigs and then owning oil and gas leases.
