Rev. Billy Earl Creswell, age 75, entered into eternal life Monday, June 13, 2011 at his home in Sherman.
Rev. Creswell was born April 29, 1936 in Ferris, TX, the son of Rev. Earl Franklin Creswell and Estella (Thompson) Creswell. After graduating from Denison High School in 1954, Bill served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. After the Army, he received his ministerial degree in music from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. Bill's call to the ministry took his family to MO, TX, FL and IN, where he served as full time music minister. Bill was also an excellent carpenter, building many homes around Denison and the Dallas area. He was a true blessing and Christian example as a husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Bill's passion for being an example of Christ by his actions lead him to taking care of everyone else’s' needs first before his own. He lived Col. 4:17 "see that you fulfill the ministry that you have received in the Lord". Such a kind and generous man, who never met a stranger, will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rev. Creswell is survived by his beloved family, children, Mike Creswell of AR, Debra Creswell Cantrell and husband, Gary of Sherman, TX and Rev. Scott Creswell and wife, Jennifer of Griffin, GA, grandchildren, Tai Bailey and husband, David of Frisco, TX, Taylor Phelan of Chicago, IL, Tarrah Phelan of Lynchburg, VA, Chandler Creswell and Cheney Creswell both of GA, LaTosha Webb and Tiffany Webb of AR, brother, Glen Creswell and wife, Audrey and sister, Mary Helen Creswell all of Denison, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Earl and Estella Creswell and sister, Lois Collier.
Rev. Creswell was cremated according to his wishes. There will be a Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Hagerman Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall, 4619 Refuge Rd, Sherman, TX. This will be a casual gathering for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center, Sherman, TX 75090 the only non-profit hospice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.
