March 21, 2010Charles Pierce Copeland, 79, went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 19, 2010 at Texoma Medical Center. Mr. Copeland was born April 20, 1930 in Miami, Florida, the son of Pierce and Isabel (Kay) Copeland. He loved the Lord and was of the Episcopal faith. Charles retired from Dade County Courthouse after 34 years of public service. He was a big supporter of the performing arts, especially musical theater. He was also an avid reader; his favorite books were mysteries. Charles was a kind and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Copeland is survived by his cousin, Suzane Johnson and husband, Loyd, of Pottsboro; cousin, Russel Davis and wife, Chiyoko, of Tampa, Florida; cousin, Ray Davis and wife, Linda, of Tampa, Florida; niece, Shannon Johnson of Pottsboro; and dear friend, Leslie Rube and her son Trevin of Pottsboro. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Pierce and Isabel Copeland. Mr. Copeland was cremated according to his wishes. There were no services planned at this time. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 W. Main in Denison.
