  Services for James "Dude" Donald Burk, 71, of Paris, Texas, formally of Van Alstyne, Texas, who passed away May 30, 2015 at the Paris
Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas. Cremation arrangements were entrusted with Scoggins Crematory. The family had a memorial service at a later date. Mr. Burk was born April 25, 1944 in Sherman, Texas, son of James and Lillian Burk. He served in the US Air Force for 4 years and in the US Navy for 2 years. After serving 6 years total in the Armed Forces, he attended Abilene Christian University, where he would then obtain his degree in Criminal Justice. After receiving his degree, he went to work for the McKinney, Texas Police Department, where he served for 30 years before retiring. When James completed his journey on this earth, he was met in Heaven by his parents and his older brother, Ray Burk. He left behind his lifelong friend, Dorice; and 2 daughters: Kim Burk Chappell and husband, Mark, of Paris, Texas; and Tracey Burk Hass and husband, Ray, of Abilene, Texas; and numerous cousins and friends.
