Graveside
Funeral Service for Joe S. Fritts, 80, of Collinsville, Texas, will be
held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Collinsville
Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Dan Lindsay. Services are under the
direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. No formal
visitation is planned. Joe Passed away on March 25, 2014 at Texas
Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman, Texas.
Joe was born November 20,
1933 to Samuel Arthur and Zelma (Mullins) Fritts in Ft. Worth, Texas. He
married Dorothy Tyler on August 22, 1953 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Joe served in the
United States Navy, serving on the USS Lexington. He was a Jet aircraft
mechanic stationed at Mir Mar Naval station and he also served in Japan, Guam
and Hawaii. Joe worked in the oilfield for many years and retired from Kaiser
Aluminum. He loved to garden in his organic garden and he even had a Ginko
tree. Joe was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife,
Dorothy Fritts of Collinsville; 3 sons, Joey Fritts of Sherman, James Fritts of
Denison and Jarrod Fritts and wife, Martha of Gunter; a daughter, Lisa Leath
and husband, Rodney of Collinsville; grandchildren, Krista Richardson, Corey
Leath and wife, Brandy, Chloe Fritts and Kinsey Fritts; great-grandchildren,
Taylor Hill, Rowdy Bates and Wyatt Leath and numerous nieces, nephews and other
family members.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Samuel and Zelma Fritts and 8 siblings.
There will be a lunch and
visitation time with the family following the service at the Collinsville
Community Center.
