COLLINSVILLE - Funeral services for Eula "Joyce" Johnson, 83, will be held Monday, November 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow the service in Collinsville Cemetery. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation services will be held Sunday evening, November 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Joyce was born on September 10, 1930 in Collinsville, Texas to Fred and Ethel (Swindle) Cannon. She married Billy Bob Johnson, her high-school sweetheart, on January 5, 1947 in Oklahoma. They were married for 66 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville, Texas. She worked as a real estate agent and sold Mary Kay cosmetics. However, her favorite job was being "Mom" and "Meme" to her children , grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing the mandolin and singing country gospel at local nursing homes. She is survived by her husband, Billy Bob Johnson, of Collinsville, TX; children: Frieda Gutshall and her husband, Terry, of Marana, AZ; Billy Dan Johnson and wife, Susan, of Collinsville, TX; and Bobette Gore and husband, Dennis, of Grand Prairie, TX; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Cannon of Graham, TX; and a sister, Helen Jetzelsberger, of Haltom City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ethel Cannon; brothers: Harding Cannon, J. D. Cannon, Billy Joe Cannon, and Carol Wayne Cannon; and sisters: Nannie Bell Branch, Mary Ruth Underwood, and Alice Davis. The pallbearers will be her grandsons: Damon Gutshall, Brent Gutshall, Fancy Dan Johnson, Thunder Johnson, PrestonGore, and Colten Johnson.
