JUNE E. HUFFORD DIES SUDDENLY THURSDAY AT 4:40 OF HEART ATTACK
Prominent Citizen, Druggist and Theater Owner Goes Home for Brief Rest and Succumbs While Lying on Divan - - News of Demise Tragic Shock Throughout the City - - - Funeral Will Be Held Saturday Morning at 10 O'Clock at Residence

While reclining on a divan in the living room at the home of his sister, Mrs. G.E. Wooten, 406 East Main Street, June E. Hufford, prominent citizen, druggist and theater owner, died suddenly Thursday afternoon from a direct heart attack.  The demise came at 4:40 o'clock with Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Wooten and Dr. G.W. Greer at the bedside.
The death of Mr. Hufford, so unexpected, was a distinct and tragic shock throughout the city.  News of the demise was quickly flashed over the wires and into the business houses and homes of the people of several towns, including Collinsville, the native home of the deceased and where he lived before coming to Whitesboro.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed at midnight this Thursday but will be announced today from the home of his mother, Mrs. E.S. Hufford, Collinsville.  The body was carried there last night after being prepared for burial.  Statements last night, however, indicated the funeral would be held Saturday morning, depending on the arrival of a sister, Mrs. Junia Williams, from Boynton, Oklahoma.  Burial will be made in Collinsville Cemetery.
Masons will probably have charge of the funeral, the deceased being a Thirty-second Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine.  He  long took an active part in the organization and the work.  He was a member of the Christian Church also and affiliated with other organizations, social and business here and at Collinsville.
Mr. Hufford was associated in the Wooten Drug Company here with his brother-in-law, G.E. Wooten.  He was also owner and manager of the Princess Theater in Whitesboro, which he remodeled and reopened a few months ago.  He was also owner of the theater at Collinsville, closed for the past several years.  He made his home with his sister, Mrs. G.E. Wooten.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. E.S. Hufford; and three sisters, as follows: Mrs. Earl Bruce of Collinsville; Mrs. G.E. Wooten of Whitesboro; and Mrs. Junia Williams of Boynton, Oklahoma.
His father died some years ago, and prior to his removal to this city.  He was the last male member of the pioneer family in this section of Texas - being an only son and brother.  The original family came to Grayson County from Missouri and settled on a farm near Collinsville and which place today is known as the "Hufford farm."
An only son and brother, he was the favorite with them all and mother and sisters were very close in every way, including business.  In many enterprises they were associated together and few, if any, transactions, even small, were ever consummated without the advice from and approval of all members of the family.
Mr. Hufford, just past 47 years of age, was well known throughout this section of the State.  He was born at Collinsville and educated in the schools there, later entering business in that town when quite a young man.  He was popular in business and in the social world, a quiet unassuming fellow, well met, polished and unusually well informed in matters current and otherwise, with hosts of friends in many towns and cities.
