Harding Fred Cannon 12 June 1920 - 22 March 2009 PFC US Army WWII Collinsville
- Funeral services for Harding Fred Cannon, 88, were held Tuesday
morning, March 24, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with
Rev. Jerry Davis and David Woolsey officiating. Burial followed
in Collinsville Cemetery. Services were under the direction of
Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Harding passed away on March 22, 2009 at his home in Collinsville. Harding was born on June 12, 1920 in Collinsville, son of Fred and Ethel Swindle Cannon. He married Christene Walden Newsom on October 2, 1985 in Collinsville. Hardin served in the United States Army during World War II, landing on the beach of Normandy. He was a truck driver and a farmer custom hay baling in his later years of life. Harding was a dedicated family man, who loved and admired his family. Harding also loved his country. Survivors include his wife, Christene Cannon of Collinsville; 2 sons, Jerry Cannon and wife, Mary Nan, of Whitesboro; and Eddie Cannon and wife, Mary, of Whitesboro; 3 daughters, Judy Woolsey and husband, David, of Whitesboro; Betty Harville and husband, Kent, of Collinsville; and Suzanne Carpenter and husband, Jon, of Lake Kiowa; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob Cannon of Perrin and 2 sisters, Joyce Johnson of Collinsville and Helen Jetzelberger of Ft. Worth. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Pallbearers were Patrick Cannon, Jonathan Cannon, Jason Anglin, Shane Harville, Dewayne Woolsey, Matthew Woolsey, Joshua Carpenter, and Caleb Carpenter. WHITESBORO ~ Funeral services for Dolly Lorene Todd Cannon, 83,
were held Sunday afternoon, August 10, 2008 at North Hills Baptist Church
in Whitesboro with Rev. John Reynolds officiating. Interment followed
in Collinsville Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Meador Funeral
Home in Whitesboro.
Mrs. Cannon passed away Friday, August 8, 2008 at her residence. She was born on November 11, 1924 in Collinsville, daughter of James Manie and Bessie Craig Todd. She was a homemaker and attended North Hills Baptist Church in Whitesboro. Survivors include 2 sons, Jerry Cannon and wife, Mary Nan, of Whitesboro; and Eddie Cannon and wife, Mary, of Whitesboro; 2 daughters, Judy Woolsey and husband, David, of Whitesboro; and Betty Harville and husband, Kent, of Collinsville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Cleta Heath of Collinsville and Juanell Cox of Collinsville; and a brother, Sam Todd of Whitesboro.
