MRS. ALICE ANN CAGLEThe Abilene Daily Reporter February 8, 1915 Sherman, Texas, February 8, 1915 - Rev. H.M. Cagle, well known Baptist minister, was shot and desperately wounded by Mrs. Annie Faust on the east side of the public square here at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Five shots were fired and two of the bullets struck Rev. Mr. Cagle, one in the right breast and one below the right nipple, ranging down and piercing the liver...... The Bryan Daily Eagle February 8, 1915 Bryan, Texas Sherman, Texas, February 8, 1915 - Rev. H.M. Cagle, the Baptist preacher who was shot yesterday by Mrs. Annie Faust, was still living this noon, but there is no hope for his recovery. The woman declines to talk. Sherman, Texas February 9, 1915 - Never rallying from the effects of the two wounds inflicted by bullets fired by Mrs. Annie Faust Monday, Rev. H.M. Cagle, prominent Baptist missionary minister, died at the Sherman hospital here late Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Cagle was never able to make any statement in connection with the shooting. Mrs. Faust was expected to be in Sherman early Wednesday, when the charge against her will be changed from assaut to murder. Funeral arrangements for Mr. Cagle had not been announced Wednesday monring. The dead minister leaves a wife and one adopted daughter five years of age. Mrs. Cagle remained at her husband's bedside to the end.
