   Van Alstyne, Texas - Bobby Wilton Portman was born December 8, 1945 in Denison, Texas to Jessie Polson Portman and Glen Portman. He passed away peacefully in his sleep October 18, 2017 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Collinsville, Texas. He had four siblings, Jerry Ann Foote, Zack Portman, Patsy Vestel, and Ralph Shipman. In Bobby's early years, he was known as "Porkey" whether he was in the arena as a rodeo clown, barrel man and bullfighter and later driving #39 and #4 on the dirt tracks of North Texas and Oklahoma. Bobby married Linda Cornelison May 28, 1980 and they made their home in Van Alstyne. Between them, they had four children, James "Jimbo" Portman and wife Vicki, of Hooker, Oklahoma; Mike Portman and wife, Catrina, of Howe; Donna Jones of Honey Grove; and Doug Williams of McKinney, Texas; they have ten grandchildren, Loper McCune 26, Curtis Corbray 22, Katie Corbray 21, Ty Portman 21, Haylie Eyer 20, Breea Barnett 19, Delaina Portman 18; Chase Barnett 17; Blayne Portman 16; and Jesse Portman 11. They also have four beautiful great-grandchildren. Bobby was a longtime automotive business owner across North Texas, from Howe to Dallas, owning and operating mechanic shops, tire shops, and service stations. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jerry Ann Foote and Patsy Vestel. Services were held at the Van Alstyne Church of Christ Friday, October 20 with Rev. Duane Peters presiding over the ceremony. Pallbearers were Ty Portman, Curtis Corbray, Blayne Portman, Chase Barnett, Jesse Portman, David Englutt, Tim Scribner, Greg Null, Clay Marr, and Mark Marr. Graveside services followed at Collinsville Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Alstyne, Texas.  Van Alstyne, Texas - Linda Kay Portman, 66, of Van Alstyne, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at her home. Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Collinsville Cemetery with Rev. Duane Peters officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Ty Portman, Curtis Corbray, Blayne Portman, Chase Barnett, and Jesse Portman. She is survived by 4 children, James "Jimbo" Portman of Hooker, Oklahoma; Mike Portman of Howe; Donna Jones of Honey Grove; and Doug Williams of McKinney; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and sibling, Gail Hariman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Portman; her mother, Violet; and father, Kenneth Cornelison.
