Services for Milton Pearce, 76, of Tioga, were held Saturday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at the Huff-Slay Funeral Home in Pilot Point with Rev. Carroll Caddell officiating.  Burial was in Collinsville Cemetery.
Mr. Pearce died Friday, May 22, 1987, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
He was born July 19, 1910, in Collinsville to the late J.A. Pearce and Celia Tuck.  He married Dorothy Winn May 26, 1934 in Collinsville.
Mr. Pearce was a retired educator.  He earned his master's in education and bachelor's in math and physics at North Texas State Teacher's College and began his teaching career in the Sperry Community.  In 1936, he became a teacher in Collinsville until World War II, when he joined the Navy.
He left eh Navy as Lt. Cmdr. Pearce and returned to Collinsville, where he taught for 18 years, holding the positions of teacher, coach, principal and superintendent.  He coached Collinsville to the 1956 Girls Class B State Basketball Championship and the 1958 Girls Class B Runner-Up Championship.
His final assignment was in 1972 at Howe High School and he was also a member of the board of directors for Region 10 Education Center in Richardson, The Texoma Rock Hounds and the Tioga AARP.  He was also a member of Tioga's First Methodist Church.
Survivors include wife, Dorothy Pearce of Tioga; sons, James Earl Pearce of Alvarado and Donald Wayne Pearce of Norman; daughter, Betty Turner of Granbury; sister, Mary Fields of Oregon; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Pearce was born in Collinsville, the son of J.A. Pearce and Celia Tuck Pearce, and married Dorothy Winn on May  26, 1934, in Collinsville.
He graduated from North Texas State Teachers College in 1936 with a master's degree in education and undergraduate degree in math and physics.
Mr. Pearce was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy as a lieutenant commander.  He began his teaching career in 1931 in the Sperry community, and in 1936 he began teaching in Collinsville, where he remained until entering the service.  He returned to teaching in 1953 and continued teaching in Collinsville for 18 years, also serving as coach, principal and superintendent.  He taught in Howe in 1972.
Mr. Pearce as a member of the board of directors for Region 10 Education Center in Richardson, Texoma Rock Hounds, Tioga American Association of Retired Persons, and the First United Methodist Church of Tioga.
Surviving are his wife; sons, James Earl Pearce of Alvarado and Donald Wayne Pearce of Norman, Okla.; daughter, Betty Turner of Granbury; sister, Mary Fields of Oregon; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.
