Ruth Henry 22 February 1904 - 27 July 1994
Thomas E. Henry 1 October 1899 - 11 April 1998
Ruth Henry celebrated her 90th birthday with a family party at her
home in Collinsville. She has lived in the Collinsville-Whitesboro-Ethel
communities most of her life. She is a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church and has been
active in her local Senior Citizens group. She collects dolls and
corresponds with people all over the United States. Mrs. Henry has recorded and preserved many of the local cemetery
records. Hobbies include crochet and quilting. She is married to Tom Henry. Also celebrating with Mrs. Henry
were her son and daughter-in-law, L.E. and Dorothy Reast of Longview; granddaughter
and husband, Janet and Glenn Copeland of White Oak; and great-grandchildren
Clay Riley, nine years old; and twins Scott Reast Copeland and Shelby Caroline
Copeland, six years old. Mrs. Henry was born February 22, 1904.Collinsville - Ruth Henry, 90-year-old Collinsville homemaker and
doll collector, died Wednesday at Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Huff Funeral Home Chapel
in Whitesboro with the Rev. James Gilbert officiating. Burial will
be in Collinsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Henry was born in Collinsville, the daughter of T.W.R. Brown
and Roxie Hutton Brown. She was valedictorian of her 1921 Collinsville
High School Class. On Dec. 23, 1945, she married Tom Henry in Fort
Worth.
A lifetime resident of Grayson County, she recorded and preserved
local cemetery records in West Grayson County. She was a member of
the Ethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Grayson County Historical Society,
Postmark Collectors, Tarrant County Genealogical Society and Cumberland
Presbyterian Women's Missionary Society.
Surviving are her husband; son, Lawrence Edward Reast of Longview;
two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Children's
Home, P.O. Drawer G., Denton, Texas.
