Rice 11 October 1889 - 26 November 1966 Inez Lily Rice 28 November 1894 - 22 August 1987 December 1966 FUNERAL HELD FOR RETIRED CONTRACTOR Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for a retired Collinsville building contractor who died Friday morning in a Sherman hospital following a long illness. Services were conducted for William L. Rice, 77, in Miller Memorial Baptist Church, Collinsville, Rev. Hugh Newsom, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Collinsville cemetery under the direction of Richards-Beck Funeral Home. Mr. Rice was born October 11, 1889 in Rome, Ga., the son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Rice. He married Miss Inez Swindle on August 4, 1912 in Collinsville. He was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include his wife; a son, W.J. Rice of Sherman; six daughters, Mrs. Joe Scoggins, Mrs. R.M. Matlock, Mrs. Charles Light, and J.R. Russell, all of Collinsville; Mrs. Bas Gaddie of Albany, Calif., and Mrs. Don Shepherd of Richmond, Calif.; two brothers, John Rice of Collinsville and Euell Rice of Gunter; 19 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
