R.C. Ragsdale
Collinsville - Rupert C. Ragsdale, 60, a descendant of early pioneers
of Collinsville, died Friday at his home in Elk City, Okla., following
a heart attack. The body will be returned to Collinsville for burial,
with George H. Stephenson, minister of the Church of Christ, conducting
services at
2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Colllinsville cemetery.
Born December 9, 1883, in Collinsville, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Reed Ragsdale, his father being a settler of this county before the town
of Collinsville was established. He was a graduate of Collinsville
high school and in 1917 married Miss Edna Harbison, daughter of former
Senator J.H. Harbison, also a pioneer of this section. For the past
15 or 20 years he has been engaged in cattle ranching near Elk City.
Survivors are his wife; a son, Jimmie Ragsdale; two brothers, Earlin
Ragsdale of Elk City and Herman Ragsdale of Collinsville, and a sister,
Mrs. Eula Pearce of Terrell.
