Whitesboro - Mrs. Hermie Venus Bell, 72, of Collinsville, died Sunday
at 1 p.m. in the Collinsville Care Home, after an extended illness.
Before moving to Collinsville, she had been a resident of the Ethel
community for 50 years. She was born in Ethel July 3, 1900, a daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. R.M. Tarpley. She married Raymond D. Bell
Aug. 31, 1918 in Collinsville, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Richards Funeral
Home Chapel. Tommie Shaver of Fort Worth and Vallen Graham of Sherman
will officiate, followed by burial in Collinsville Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband; one son, R.D. Bell of Sherman; three
daughters, Mmes. Johnny Vannoy of Collinsville, Edwin Durden of Sherman
and Wayne Gillum of Pilot Point; two sisters, Mmes. Clarence Patterson
of Houston and Charley Hough of Crowell; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild;
and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30 o'clock.

Collinsville - Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Richards
Chapel, Whitesboro, for Raymond Dewey Bell, 74, retired Collinsville farmer
who died Sunday in a Sherman hospital. Tommie Shaver of Fort Worth
and Vallen Graham of Sherman will officiate. Burial will be in Collinsville
Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born Sept. 24, 1898, in Grayson County, son of Mr.
and Mrs. W.J. Bell. He married Hermie V. Tarpley Aug. 31, 1918, in
Collinsville. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, R.D. Bell of Sherman; daughters, Mrs. Johnny
Vannoy of Collinsville, Mrs. Edwin Durden of Sherman and Mrs. Wayne Gillum
of Pilot Point; brothers, Luther Bell of Tioga, Cecil Bell of Truth or
Consequences, N.M., Cabel Bell of Dallas and C.O. Bell of Lawton, Okla.;
sisters, Mrs. Florence Bradley and Mrs. Cora Neilan, both of Dallas, and
Mrs. Jewel Wheless of Sherman; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
