Only information was obtained by dousing where the FHM was which indicated an infant male. Collinsville ~ Lewis Thomas Pilcher, 85, who has 99 surviving relatives, died Saturday at 6:45 a.m. at his home two miles south of Collinsville. He had been ill four weeks. He was known in this area as Uncle Lou. Services are to be conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Collinsville Methodist Church, with Rev. C.C. Childress, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in a local cemetery directed by Waldo of Sherman. Mr. Pilcher was born September 23, 1856 in Winston county, Miss., a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robertson Pilcher. He came to Texas at the age of three with his parents and settled in Wise County. In 1874 he moved to a farm near Dallas, which then consisted of a few stores, a blacksmith shop and a flour mill. He said that the State Fair grounds in Dallas included about 50 acres on the south side of his former farm. Mr. and Mrs. Pilcher were married Jan. 5, 1879, and they celebrated their sixtieth anniversary last January. The Pilchers moved to their present home in 1881 and had resided there since. Surviving are his wife, five sons, W.L., J.J. and Owen Pilcher of Collinsville; and Zip Pilcher of Henrietta; four daughters, Mrs. Nora Sanders of Erick, Okla., Grace Hood of Duncan, Okla., Mrs. Dollie Henderson of Tioga, and Mrs. Hazel Coulson of Collinsville; 48 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Sherman Democrat 13 April 1956 Mrs. Nancy Pilcher Dies; Leaves 156 Descendents Collinsville--Funeral will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Collinsville Methodist Church for Mrs. Nancy Ingram Pilcher, 92, who died Friday at 6:20 a.m. in her home Collinsville route 1, after an illness of five months. She has 156 direct descendants. Rev. Harold E. Johnston, Baptist minister will officiate. Burial will be in Collinsville Cemetery, directed by Richards-Beck Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Mrs. Pilcher was born in Smith County. Her husband was the late L.P. Pilcher. Survivors are three sons, W.L. Pilcher, Jim Pilcher, and F.O. Pilcher, all of Collinsville; three daughters, Mrs. Nora Sanders of Erick, Okla., Mrs, Dollie Henderson and Mrs. Forest Coulson, both of Collinsville; 50 grandchildren; 100 great and great-great grandchildren.
