Mitchell 18 July 1938 - Harold Dean Mitchell 16 July 1929 - 21 March 2014 wed 17 July 1957  The Herald Democrat March 23 - 24, 2014 Sherman - Funeral services for Harold Dean Mitchell were held Monday, March 24 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Wood of West Sherman Baptist Church officiated. Burial followed at Collinsville Cemetery with Paul Bailey, Mike Skipworth, Randy Pelfrey, David Englutt, Brian Shadden, and Mike Carney serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Leon Grisby, Robert Reed, Alton Cox, and Tommy Bateman. Mr. Mitchell, 84, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Sherman HealthCare Center. Harold was born July 16, 1929 in Southmayd, Texas to Sam and Vallie Shadden Mitchell. He graduated from Southmayd schools in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army from February 1951 to November 1953. On July 17, 1957 Harold and Linda Carney were married in Sherman. During his working career, Harold worked for the Sherman Police Department, Waldo Funeral Home, Texas Instruments and Burns Security. He has been a member of the VFW since 1953. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 56 years; two daughters, Donna Cashion of Sherman and Tammy Briley and husband, Mike, of Whitesboro; four grandchildren, Jake Cashion of Dallas; Amanda Cashion of Sherman; Trent Briley of Whitesboro; and Katelyn Colley and husband, Daniel, of Gainesville; one great-granddaughter, Laiken Colley of Gainesville; and one brother, Eugene Mitchell of Sherman. He is also survived by a special person, whom he loved like a daughter, Tisha Garcia of Lewisville. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ken Mitchell; and sister, Martha Bruton.  Linda Lou Mitchell, 82, of Sherman, Texas was called to her Heavenly home on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Linda was born July 18, 1938 in Collinsville, Texas, daughter of William Ray and Alice Joy Dethlof Carney. She loved being around her family and friends; playing Bingo, and watching her Dallas Cowboys. She is survived by 2 daughters, Tammy Briley and husband, Mike; and Donna Cashion; brother, Marshall Carney; and sister, Barbara Vannoy; grandchildren, Trent Briley, Jacob Cashion, Katelyn Colley and husband, Daniel; Amanda LaBonte and husband, Matt; Latisha Garcia and husband, Steven; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Laiken and Wyatt Colley; and Lucy Garcia; and many other loving friends and family. Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Dean Mitchell; son, Kenneth Waldo Mitchell; parents; sister, Loveda Reed; brothers, H.M., C.L. and Billy Carney.
