 Dallas Morning News January 25, 1895 Woman Killed. She is shot down by her son-in-law - the homicide arrested. Denison, Tex, Jan 24 - At 5:15 this afternoon a colored woman in the prime of her life, the wife of Josh Wilson, driver of an express wagon, was shot and instantly killed by her son-in-law, Collins McKinney. The sound of the shots quickly attracted a crowd, who found the woman dead, and near by stood Will Floyd, a young colored man with a bullet wound in his left arm. McKinney, the pistol still smoking, made a gesture as if to take his own life, fired the weapon in close proximity of his head, but did no damage beyond grazing his neck. He then made a rush at the crowd as if to force his way through, but was promptly grabbed by two young white men and held until officers Penn and Skeen arrived on the scene and took him in custody.
