Nov. 1 1897 Denison Budget Column - 'Charged with killing his brother' Denison, Tex., Oct 31 - Friday night, at the residence of Scott Coleman, four miles southeast of this city, John and Abraham Coleman, colored, sons of Scott Coleman, fell out over a game of craps, and John Coleman was shot in the breast. The matter was kept very quiet until last night when it became certain that the wounded man would die. This morning John Coleman died and a warrant was sworn out for Abraham Coleman, who is charged with killing him. The Colemans live in a settlement where a number of darkies located some years ago and have by hard work and saving accumulated considerable property.
