Anna - Virginia Gale Wortham, a 74 year old Anna resident, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at Medical Center of McKinney. She was born July 15, 1934 in Anna, TX to Daniel L. Rollins and Lilath Opal Melton Rollins. She married Kenneth Wortham August 18, 1955 in Duran, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Patsy Dunlap and Lucy Arrington; and three brothers, Robert Rollins, Jim Rollins, and Earl Rollins.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wortham of Anna, Texas; two daughters, Sandra Chapman and husband Ty of Anna, Texas; Kim Fletcher and Mike Templin of Anna, Texas; two sons, Dooley Wortham and wife Tammy of Anna, Texas; Andy Wortham and wife Mary of Valley View, Texas; ten grandchildren, Marla Edwards, Marcus Edwards, Chad Wortham, Chasity Wortham, Justin Wortham, Brittany Wortham, Leslie Chapman, Ty Wesley chapman, Hillary Terry, and Hayden Terry; two great-grandchildren, Colton and Chase Wortham; one brother, Randy Rollins of Anna, Texas; three sisters, Brenda Hammack of Anna, Texas; Ann Crook of Van Alstyne, Texas; and Sandy Shaw of Normangee, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Methodist Church in Anna under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Justice officiating. Burial will follow at Coffman Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home in Van Alstyne on Monday from 6-8 pm.
