Mary Frances Dickson 26 February 1910 - 8 May 1918 The Denison Press 'Friday, April 13, 1945 pg.5 Funeral services were held Thursday for Arthur E. Dickson, former resident of Denison who died in San Angelo Tuesday. Services were in charge of Rev. Guy Purdue and were at the Short-Murray chapel, followed by interment at Layne cemetery. Mr. Dickson of late made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Will Moody, leaving Denison last December after a long residence here. Mr. Dickson was born in Banner, Mississippi, September 12, 1869 and received his primary education there. Later he attended Oxford University, Oxford, MIssissippi, and Southeastern State College, Durant. He was married in 1908 to Miss Pearl Richardson. After his marriage, Mr. Dickson taught for several years in the Layne and Golden Rule schools here. Later he was superintendent of schools in Ardmore, Oklahoma, before he retired 12 years ago because of ill health. Dickson, 75, of San Angelo, were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Saturday, July 20, with Rev. Jim Ellison conducting the service. Interment was in Layne-Coffman Cemetery with Johnson-Moore in charge. Mr. Dickson died July 18 at his home in San Angelo after two years of illness. He was born in Denison September 25, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs.Henry Richardson. He had taught school at Lyane, Golden Rule, and Ardmore, and had served as county superintendent of Love County, Oklahoma. Survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Will Moody, San Angelo; and Mrs. Bill Fisher, Shreveport; a brother, Truman Richardson, Denison; a sister, Mrs. A.C. Criswell, Ardmore; and six grandchildren.
