Thursday, June 20, 1940 pg. 1 William Thomas Carmon, 73 years of age, died at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday at his home on Route 2 after 5 weeks of illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today from the Short-Murray chapel. He was buried at Clark [sic] cemetery, Short-Murray in charge of arrangements. Mr. Carmon was born September 24, 1866 in Sumner county, Tennessee, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.R. Carmon. He came to Denison from Wyoming 20 years ago. He was a carpenter for the Burlington railroad for 25 years, having begun his work at the age of 24. He continued in the same capacity until he lost his eye sight. Since then he had resided with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M.E. Mace. Mrs. Carmon died several years ago. Deceased is survived by a son, Durland, of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, Walter Carmon of Nacona, Texas; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mace of Denison and Mrs. May Wright of Wayside, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Church of Christ Scientist. Name: Wm.
