- Charles Lucas Walker, 84, of 110 Mulberry St., Whitesboro, died
Wednesday morning in a Sherman hospital after an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 13, 1886 in Tom Bean, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Walker. He married Elsie Jane Siebert on Feb. 9, 1914 in Sadler. A retired farmer, he moved to Whitesboro in 1951 after having resided three miles east of Sadler since 1894. Services will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Richards Chapel. The Rev.Wilbur Simmons, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Gainesville, will officiate. Interment will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, east of Sadler. Grandsons will serve as bearers. Survivors are his wife; two sons, V.L. Walker of Ringgold and Linday of Dallas; three daughters, Mmes. Lovella Smith of Houston, Helen Griffin of Sadler and Patsy Tamplen of Gainesville; one sister, Mrs. Willie B. Clemons of Houston; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Richards Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Larence Smith, Methodist minister of Bells. Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery near Sadler. A Sadler native, Mrs. Walker was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Siebert. She married Charles L. Walker on Feb. 4, 1914, at Sadler. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are sons, V.L. Walker of Ringgold, Tex. and Charles Lindy Walker of Dallas; daughters, Mrs. Louella Smith of Houston, Mrs. Helen Griffin of Sadler and Mrs. Patsy Tamplin of Gainesville; sisters, Mrs. Jewell Godwin of Houston, Mrs. Hazel Parham of Austin, Mrs. Bertie Barnes of Mexia, Mrs. Irene Moulder of Grand Prairie and Miss Eva Siebert of Whitesboro; brothers, Lee Siebert of Texarkana and Jess Siebert of Eastland; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
