July 1936 William Woodson Hazelwood, a resident of Grayson county...years, died suddenly at 4 a.m. Saturday at his residence, Sherman, route 3. Although Mr. Hazelwood had been in failing health for several years, he had not been considered seriously ill. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday from the Sadler Church of Christ. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. W. Watson and the Rev. Bob Prestage of Gainesville and the Rev. Leroy Brownlowe of Gordonville. Burial will be at Christian Chapel with the Talley Funeral home of Sherman in charge. Mr. Hazelwood was born April 29, 1861, in Granger county, Tennessee. After residing at Van Alstyne nine years, he moved to his present home 24 years ago. He was a member of the Sadler Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Amanda E. Hazelwood; five sons, S.J. and R.E. Hazelwood of Sherman route 3; J.C. Hazelwood of Hagerman; C.T. Hazelwood of Enid, Okla.; and W.C. Hazelwood of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. C.F. Templeman and Mrs. G.W. Estes of Sherman and Mrs. E.L. Dinwoodie of Sherman route 3; 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hazlewood Dies at Sadler
Funeral services will be held Friday in Sadler Methodist Church for Mrs. M. E. Hazelwood, 87, who died Wednesday at 1:35 p.m. at her home in Sadler, She was a native of Granger County, Tenn. C. M. Moser, minister of the Church of Christ in Whitesboro and A. R. Morgan, minister of the Church of Christ in Leonard, will officiate. Burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, near Sadler, directed by Waldo Funeral Home. The body will remain at the home until time for services. Mrs. Hazelwood was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Helton and wife of the late William W. Hazelwood. She had lived in Grayson County 53 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include five sons, S. J. Hazelwood and R. E. Hazelwood, both of Sherman, W. C. Hazelwood of Artesia, N.M., C. E. Hazelwood of Enid, Okla., and J. C. Hazelwood of Sadler; three daughters, Mrs. Cora B. Smith and Mrs. Carl Durham, both of Sadler and Mrs. E. L. Dinwoodie of Southmayd; three sisters, Mrs. Francis A. West, Mrs. Maude Sheppard and Mrs. Nancy Jones, all of Dallas; three brothers, Will Helton and Claude Helton, both of Dallas, and Ervin Helton of Granger County, Tenn.; 28 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
