Ben Elton Harshbarger 3 July 1925 - 1 October 1981 SADLER - Services for Ben Elton Harshbarger, 56, who died Friday at Veterans Medical Center in Dallas, will be held at
2 p.m. Thursday in Huff Chapel in Whitesboro, conducted by the Rev. B. D. Freeman of Landmark Baptist Church in Whitesboro and Ricky Hargrave of the Baptist Church in Sadler. Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Sadler under the direction of Huff Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Mr. Harshbarger was born in Sadler, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Harshbarger, and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Sadler City Council, the American Legion and the First Christian Church. Surviving are his daughter, Betty Louise Fitzgerald of Sadler; brothers, Ted Harshbarger of Oil Center, N.M., and Allen Harshbarger of Sadler; sisters, Mrs. Veda Fouratt of Ruidoso, N.M., Mrs. Helen Wright of Whitesboro, Mrs. Genevieve McClendon and Mrs. Mildred Blevins, both of Sherman; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers are Tommy Wright, Tommy Nesbitt, Robert Eldredge, Leo Carter, Johnny Roe and A. Q. Malone. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. SADLER - Ben "Bugs" Elton Harshbarger, 56, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital. Service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Huff Chapel, Whitesboro. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Sadler. He was born July 3, 1925, in Sadler, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Harshbarger. He was a welder, served in the Korean War and was a member of the First Christian Church, the Whitesboro Riding Club, the Sadler City council and the American Legion. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Louise Fitzgerald of Sadler; two brothers, Ted Harshbarger of Oil Center, N.M., and Allen Harshbarger of Sadler; four sisters, Mrs. Veda Fouratt of Riudoso, N.M., Mrs. Genevieve McLendon and Mrs. Mildred Blevins, both of Sherman and Mrs. Helen Wright of Whitesboro and three grandchildren.
