Night is wanning, let them sleep, Morning dawns! There is no time to weep. Died on the 27th inst., at Norton, Texas, little Alta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Horde, aged 2 years and 2 months. Another home made desolate, For death has entered there, And robbed them of a darling girl, With soft and shining hair. Another little golden sheaf, Garnered to the harvest home, Another sweet and lovely flower, Plucked in beauty and in bloom. Sleep; sleep on little Alta, We hope to meet you soon, Where God shallw ipe away our tears, And death shall never come; We know what He does is best, Although we cannot see, Sometime He will lift the veil, And then how plain 'twill be.
