- Rena Lynch Ford, beloved mother of Connie Zaichik of Gloucester,
Oliver Ford of Chester, N.H. and Ronald Ford of Denison, Texas, died
peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 in Gloucester surrounded by her
children. Born in Denison, Texas on Jan. 11, 1915, she married Oliver Ford of Richmond, Va. After her marriage, Mrs. Ford lived in Shreveport, La. for 46 years, during which time she worked with her husband at Ford & co., Advertising as office manager, reared three children, and was active in community and church affairs. In 2004, she came to Gloucester for medical attention and stayed with her daughter and son-in-law. She was known around Cape Ann for her passion and quest for antiques. The daughter of Robert Lee and Elizabeth Lynch, she was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Oliver Ford Jr.; her two brothers and her four sisters. She is survived by her children and six grandchildren, Bennett Ford of Baton Rouge, La., Charles Ford of Bossier City, La., Alexancer Zaichik of Moscow, Russia, Ross Ford of Miami Beach, Charlotte Ford of Philadelphia and Allison Zaichik of Northampton. She is also survived by her sister Grace Renick of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; her children and grandchildren; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and their children. While in Gloucester, Rena formed a special friendship with Rosalina Binda, who helped care for her and filled her days with loving attention and kindness.
