The Denison Press Saturday, September 14, 1940 pg. 1 Alvah J. Thomasson Alvah J. Thomasson, 68, a farmer residing on route 1 the past four years, died at 3:30 a.m. at his home following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at Short-Murray chapel Sunday with interment at Cherry Mound cemetery. Mr. Thomasson was born Feb. 6, 1872 at Springfield, Ill., as son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Thomasson, but was reared and educated at Cherry Mound. He was married to Myrtie Wheeler at Denison on Nov. 22, 1897 and was a member of the Christian church. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. W.J. Dexheimer route 3 and Mrs. B.R. Scott of Austin and one brother, J.C. Thomasson of Denison.
