October 28, 2009 DENISON - Glenn Ray "Buddy" Mullins of Denison, 57 year-old retired truck driver for Yellow Freight, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 after bravely fighting a battle with cancer. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Cherry Mound Cemetery east of Denison. Rev. Rick Ring, minister of Yarnaby Assembly of God in Yarnaby, Okla., will officiate and arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Buddy was born Feb. 3, 1952 in Sherman to parents Ray and Dorothy Bell Mullins. He grew up in Southmayd, was a member of Southmayd Baptist Church and attended Southmayd and Sadler schools, graduating with the class of 1970. He married Teresa Chapman on May 12, 1980 in Sherman. He was employed by Red Ball Freight of Sherman until joining Yellow Freight where he retired in July 2009 after 33 years of service. Buddy, his sister's name choice, meant "close friend", "comrade in arms", "partner", "companion", especially one of a pair that watches over another to protect them from harm. Whether it was his wife, sons, family, friend or stranger, this name describes the person Buddy was in relationships to others throughout his life. This loving and devoted man will be truly missed. Whether cruising in his collection of vehicles, enjoying the quiet serene comfort of the home and garden setting he and his wife designed, watching NASCAR and his favorite sports teams, or eating Teresa's home-cooked foods with pets at his side, or being with his family, that was his life. Home was where his heart was. Surviving are his wife, Teresa of Denison; son, Travis of Denison; son, K.C. and wife Kristen of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Betty Hinsley of Whitesboro; nephew, Michael Hinsley and wife Rachel and great-nephews, Max and Jack Hinsley of Sadler; stepmother, Inez Mullins of Whitesboro; stepsisters, Betty Johnson of Quitman, Ark., Sue Cravens of Whitesboro, Jean Oliver of Sherman, Marion Hite of Collinsville; stepbrothers, Johnny Cravens of Whitesboro and Mike Cravens of Ector; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 W. Center St., Sherman, TX 75090. Biographical information Mullins, Glenn Ray “Buddy”--Feb 3 1952--Oct 26 2009; s/o
