Lynch 1878 - 1972 The Denison Press Friday, July 25, 1952 pg. 6 Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon for Robert Lee Lynch, 85, resident of Cherry Mound for sixty years, who died at his home Sunday night after three months of illness. The Rev. Dr. J.F. Murrell, former pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Bob N. Ramsay, pastor. Funderburk funeral directors were in charge of arrangements and burial was in Cherry Mound cemetery. Mr. Lynch was born in Litchfield, Kentucky, September 1, 1866. He was married in Hebron in 1903. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Charlotte Lynch; two sons, Alton Lynch and J. Waldon Lynch of Denison; six daughters, Mrs. A.J. Whitlock, Ambrose; Mrs. Lynn Milburn, Lubbock; Mrs. Donald Koons, Tulsa; Mrs. Albert Harrod, Denison; Mrs. Oliver Ford, Jr., Shreveport; and Mrs. Earl Renick, Mobile, Alabama; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were sons-in-law, A.J. Whitlock, Lynn Milburn, Donald Koons, Albert Harrod, Oliver Ford, Jr., and Earl Renick. Lynch, 93, were held at the Mullican-Little Funeral Home chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. Albert Harrod, a grandson, officiating. Burial was in Cherry Mound Cemetery. Mrs. Lynch died in a Savoy nursing center Sunday, March 5, 1972. She was born May 9, 1878 in the Cherry Mound community, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Evans. She married R.L. Lynch February 8, 1903, at Hebron. He preceded her in death in 1952. A member of the Baptist church, she had lived in the Cherry Mound community all of her life. Survivors are two sosn, Alton and J.W. Lynch, both of Denison; six daughters, Mrs. Ruth Whitlock of Bells, Mrs. Edith Milburn of Lubbock, Mrs. Fay Koons of Tulsa, Mrs. Frances Harrod of Denison, Mrs. Rena Ford of Shreveport, Louisiana; and Mrs. Grace Renick of Mobile, Alabama; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
