SHERMAN - Claude Young, 77, of Sherman died Sunday at 6 a.m. in the Bonham VA Hospital. Funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Waldo Chapel with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Cemetery.

Young was born Sept. 23, 1902 at Trenton and married Alda Mae Bush Sept. 5, 1942 at Whitewright. He was a retired employee of Grayson County Precinct 1, retiring in 1975 with 20 years’ service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Sullivan, Sherman; and one grandchild.
