Linda Maudette Self, 68, of Waco, Texas formerly of Sherman, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Providence Health Center in Waco, Texas. Services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010, 1:00 pm, at Dannel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Dannel Funeral Home.
Linda was born in Sherman, Texas on August 15, 1941, to Robert Lee Albright and Lillian Mae Lamb Albright. She attended elementary school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sherman Texas, Lubbock, Texas and high school in Brawley, California. She married Jimmie Self in Winterhaven California on June 12, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2006.
Linda was employed as a telephone operator for General Telephone and Verizon. After retirement in 2005, she moved to Waco. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and made many friends in Waco. Her only grandchild moved to Waco to live with her in 2009.
Besides her husband, Linda was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Danny and Greg. Linda is survived by her sister, Rebecca Winfree and husband Richard, of Waco, Texas; Grandson, Daniel Albright Self; Nieces, Devon Star Robinson and Lacy Nicole Sims; Nephew, Erin Cristopher Winfree; Great-Niece, Cadie Sims; nephews-in-law Derick Robinson and Jason Sims; and several cousins. - - - Dannel Funeral Home, March 4, 2010
