 Herald Democrat February 28, 2010 DENISON - Albert Richard Rector, 92, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Visitation for Albert will be from 3:30 - 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, 300 W. Acheson, Denison, Texas. Rev. Greg Smith and Rev. Danny Broughton will officiate. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, after the funeral service. Pallbearers will be Bill Wheeler, Eddie Brown, Charlie Smith, Clyde Todd, Howard Smith and Randy Ludwig. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Means and Ron Hardin. Albert was born Aug. 17, 1917 in Era, the son of Joseph Rector and Allice Idaily Harmon. He attended Sherman schools and graduated in 1936. On Aug. 4, 1940, he married Valentine West in Sherman. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He loved to fish, hunt and camp. He was a self employed wholesale candy/tobacco distributor and retired in February 1988. He was a deacon of Calvary Baptist Church, a member of Billie Mosse Lodge 1152, York Rite Mason, Scottish Rite, Hella Temple Shrine and served many years as chaplain of Grayson County Scottish Rite of North Texas Shrine Club. He is survived by his wife of Denison; son Ronald Rector of McKinney; grandchildren Richard Rector, Bryn Rector; and great-grandchild Patrick Rector. Arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St., Denison.   Herald Democrat May 7, 2010 DENISON - Vera Valentine Rector, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Visitation for Mrs. Rector will be from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard St. in Denison. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, 300 W. Acheson, Denison with Rev. Danny Broughton officiating. Pallbearers will be Wayne Johnson, Eddie Brown, Charlie Smith, Clyde Todd, Howard Smith and Randy Ludwig. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Means and Ron Hardin. Burial will be at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway in Sherman, after the funeral service. Mrs. Rector was born on April 13, 1920 in Cooke County, the daughter of Shelby West and Effie Lewis. On Aug. 4, 1940 she married Albert Rector in Sherman. She graduated from Gainesville High School and beauty school in Dallas. She worked in a beauty shop in Sherman; Burl's Pie Shop for 12 years and retired from J&J in 1986. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Denison for 58 years. She is survived by son Ronald Rector of McKinney; sister Marie DeGeorge of Gilmer; grandchildren Richard Rector, Bryn Rector and great-grandchild Patrick Rector.
