Established 1948 Van Alstyne Leader Thursday, February 26, 1970 Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel for Clyde Brown, 72, of 1834 Loy Lake Road, who died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday at a Sherman hospital after several hours of illness. Services were conducted by Rev. John Faulkner, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, and Rev. A.W. Blaine, pastor of North Park Baptist Church. Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Brown was born Sept. 14, 1897 at Anna, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Logan Brown. He was married in 1918 to Miss Irene Powell and had lived in Sherman and Grayson County all of his life. He was a carman at the Frisco Railroad for 35 years before his retirement in 1967. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife of Sherman; one son, Buddy Brown of Sherman; three daughters, Mrs. Jodie Grigg of Sherman, Mrs. Winfred Brown of Irving and Mrs. George Raynes of Enid, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Clarenda Bell of Anna; two brothers, Welch Brown of Trenton and J.L. Brown of Anna; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Rufus Reynolds, Woodrow Powell, Joe Cash, Clyde Points, Ray Brown and Clois Bell.
