Established 1948  North Texas e-News www.ntxe-news.com Raymond Lee "Stocky" Stockdale Arrangements By: Dannel Funeral Home Dec 20, 2002 SHERMAN - Services for Raymond Lee "Stocky" Stockdale, 80, of Sherman, who died Thursday, December 19, 2002 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center, will be held at 10:00 a.m. On Saturday, December 21 at the Dannel Funeral Home Chapel. Tim Tarbet of Parkview Church of Christ will officiate. Internment will follow at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Raymond was born May 7, 1922 in Sherman, the son of M. H. Stockdale, Sr. and Verna Lee Brooks Stockdale. He graduated from Sherman High School and he loved to play baseball. On December 26, 1943 in Sherman, he married Darnell Dodson. She preceded him in death on May 25, 1992. For many years, Raymond was the purchasing agent for Texoma Bearing. He was a member of Parkview Church of Christ, past member of Evening Lions Club, and member of AARP. Preceded in death by his wife and a son, Mike Stockdale, in 1964, Raymond is survived by; one brother, M. H. Stockdale of Sherman; sister-in-1aw: Helen Haggard of Lubbock; aunt; Myrtle Brooks of Sherman; and several cousins. Pallbearers will be Bob Brooks, Tom Mathis, Wilburn Grisham, Beryl Mackey, Charles Ives, and Bob Cathey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Milton and Vernon Mitchell.
