Mrs. McBee Smith Dies At Her Home in St. Louis – Will Be Buried Here
News of the death of Mrs. McBee Smith formerly of Sherman, which occurred at her home in St. Louis Saturday night suddenly , was received here Sunday by relatives.
It was stated Monday that the body would be sent to Sherman for burial and would probably arrive in Sherman about noon Tuesday.
Mrs. Smith formerly lived in Sherman and numbered a large number of Sherman people as old-time friends and acquaintances. She was an aunt of Mrs. W.R. Bergdorff, Miss Anna Chappain, and Mrs. Tom Newcomb of Sherman. She is survived by her husband and one son, L.S. Smith of St. Louis; and a daughter, Mrs. John Cannaday of Waco. Another son, Oliver Smith, a former student of Austin College, died a few years ago.
