Zdehovan 11 April 1920 - 4 January 1994 Master Sergeant US Air Force WWII, Korea, Vietnam Van Alstyne - John Thomas Zdehovan, 73-year-old Van Alstyne resident, died Tuesday at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman. Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne. Joe Bain officiated with burial in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Zdehovan was born in Harrison, Pennsylvania, the son of John Zdehovan and Elizabeth Dorchoch Zdehovan. He married Pauline Douglas October 13, 1984 in Van Alstyne. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and served in World War II and the Korean conflict. After retirement, he worked in the Athletic Department at Austin College for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Van Alstyne and the Mantua Lodge AF7AM 209 in Van Alstyne. Surviving are his wife; daughter, Jerry Nell Redden of Van Alstyne; sisters, Mary Eke of Cleveland, Ohio and Ann Moore of Elyria, Ohio; brothers, Joe Zdehovan of Cleveland, Ohio and Andy Zdehovan of Youngstown, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
