DENISON - Graveside service for Bessie May Beard Yowell, 90, who died Monday in a local nursing home, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Billy Bush officiating. Johnson-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Yowell was born March 4, 1899 in Grayson County, daughter of Samuel B. and Maud May Beard. She married George C. Yowell in 1926 and he died in 1970. Mrs. Yowell was a registered nurse in New Mexico, Sherman, and Denison, having graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital in Sherman. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are two brothers, Odie Beard of Denison and Ben Beard of Arkansas; and sister, Judy Barker of Fort Worth.
