Established 1948   Bethany Jill Wood 20 January 1984 - 2 June 2011  The Herald Democrat June 3-5, 2011 Pottsboro - Bethany Jill Wood, 27, who grew up in Plano and recently resided in Pottsboro, passed away Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center from complications of pneumonia and diabetes. Funeral services for Miss Wood were held Saturday morning, June 4, 2011 at Parkside Baptist Church, Denison, with Dr. Terry Cartwright officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Sherman. She was born January 10, 1984 in Plano. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 10. She graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2002 and attended Texas Women's University in Denton. Bethany fought a long, hard, courageous battle against multiple health complications. Bethany loved God, her family, Wizard of Oz, Disney World, babies and Boston Terriers. She had an amazing full laugh that would make you smile. She loved and adored her niece and nephew, Taylor and Hudson. She admired her 2 big brothers. Bethany enjoyed spending time and making precious memories with her cousins. Beth was easy to love and had many friends; she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents, Doug and Terry Means Woods [sic]; brother and sister-in-law, Russ and Emma Wood of Waco; brother and sister-in-law, Matt and Jill Wood of McKinney; niece and nephew, Taylor and Hudson Wood of McKinney; her grandparents, Bud and Hazel Means of Denison; grandmother, Mary Wood of Wichita, Kansas; aunt and uncle, David and Bea Means of Denison; aunt and uncle, Joe and Cathy Clapp of Denison; aunt and uncle, Russ and Christi Wood of Denison; aunt and uncle John and Shellee Morrison of Wichita, Kansas. Pallbearers were David Means, Scooter Means, Joe Clapp, Cody Clapp, Russ Wood and Brandon Wood. Memorials may be made to ChristianWorks Adoption/Foster Agency.
