Established 1948   Floyd Leroy Whitley, 81, entered into eternal life Friday, April 7, 2023 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Mr. Whitley was born April 25, 1941 in Denison, Texas, son of Floyd C. and Alma Short Whitley. Leroy married the love of his life, Dorothy Cheatham, September 25, 1966 in Dewitt, Arkansas. He worked in construction for many years, and later as a construction supervisor. Leroy loved the outdoors, camping, going to ballgames, and spending winters down south. He also enjoyed card game and watching NASCAR. Leroy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Whitley leaves be hind his wife, Dorothy Whitley; son, Bryan Whitley; grandchildren: Dillon and spouse, Josh Brassard; Hunter Whitley; Nick Christmas; Molly Keshawarz and husband, Jordan; sister, Rita Fairchild and husband, Bill; Linda Guerrieri; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Leroy was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly; his parents; sister, Doris Jean; brother-in-law, Vic Guerrieri; nieces: Angela Bucher and Becky King. Funeral service was held Friday afternoon, April 14 , 2023 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Wood and Pastor Larry McElyea officiating. Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers were Rod Guerrieri, Danny Guerrieri, Ken Alvarez, Nick Christmas, Hunter Whitley, and Shane King. Honorary pallbearers were Jace Gaynor, Richard King, Bill Eisman, Marcus Walker, Dillon Brassard, Josh Brassard and Tyler Parsons.
