Established 1948   The Herald Democrat August 8, 2012 Cedar Falls - Oleta Norris Wilson, 88, of Cedar Falls, formerly of New Mexico, died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born October 31, 1923 in Slaton, Texas, daughter of Jessie H. and Hazel Williams Norris. She married Ray "Pete" Wilson on February 7, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma. She worked as a subsitute teacher, sales clerk, and in assembly at GTE, retiring in 1988. Survived by her husband of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Janette Kohls and husband, Wayne, of Cedar Falls; 3 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Norris, of Garland, Texas. She was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Lee Henderson. Services were held Wednesday morning at Richardson Funeral Home with burial in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas. Memorials may be directed to the family.  Cedar Falls - Ray Gene "Pete" Wilson, 97, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of New Mexico, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at New Aldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. He was born May 30, 1921 in Trenton, Texas, son of Alfred C. and Edna Jo Watson Wilson. He married Oleta Norris on February 7, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma. She preceded him in deah on August 5, 2012. He worked as a machinist with ACF and then GE, retiring in 1988. Mr. Wilson is survived by one daughter, Janette Kohls and husband, Wayne, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Scott. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, March 19, 2019 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Stone Rice officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
