Established 1948 The Herald Democrat May 27, 2012 Durant - Jim Bob "J. B." Ward, 78, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home in Durant, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday morning, May 29, 2012 with Mike Ross officiating. Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jayson Killough, Clay Killough, Stone Scoggin, Derek DeLozier, Jeremy Polson and Kevin Keith. Honorary pallbearers were David Killough and Robert Ernst. J.B. was born October 1, 1933 in Denison, son of John Henry Ward and Maude Elizabeth Hall Ward. He was of the Baptist faith; was a graduate of Denison High School; past master of Masonic Lodge "Lone Star 403,: worked for the Denison fire department; retired from Sears after 40 years plus and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Durant; sons, Gary Moore and Jim Bob Ward, II and his fiance, Misty Hinkley, both of Durant; daughters, Sharon Killough and husband, David, of Paris, Texas; Tami Ellis of Grapevine, Texas; and Teri Ernst and husband, Robert, of Arlington, Texas; brother, Johnnie Ward and wife, Evelyn of Show Low, Arizona; grandchildren, Jayson Killough; Clay Killough; Virginia Moore; Tera Swanson; Teal Ellis; Trayn Ellis; Grace Ward; and 2 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and 4 sisters. Arrangements were entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
