Wilhelm 1935 - 2019 Sherman - Funeral services for Melvin Virgil Wilhelm were held Saturday morning, December 7, 2019 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Roy Webster of Grayson Bible Baptist Church officiated and military honors were provided by the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Wilhelm, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Carrus Specialty Hospital. Melvin was born October 6, 1935 in Attica, Kansas, son of Virgil and Ethel Scrock Wilhelm. Melvin served in the U.S. Air Force for 1953 to 1974 and fought in both Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart twice. On March 26, 2013 he and Iva Murphy were married. He was a longtime member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church. Mr. Wilhelm is survived by his wife; 4 sons, Jerry, Darrell, Dwayne and James; and nieces, Debbie and Tiffany and Kevin. In lieu of flowers,. memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior or the chairty of the donor's choice. - - - Waldo Funeral Home Sherman, Texas - Iva Jo Wilhelm, 77, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. She was born in Clovis, New Mexico on June 5, 1942. She met and married Melvin Wilhelm and they had 4 boys. She was a military life and traveled the world. Her passion was cooking and gardening. She was an active member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by 4 sons, Jerry Wilhelm; Darrell Wilhelm; Dwayne Wilhelm and wife, Sherry; and James Wilhelm. She is also survived by her niece, Debbie and husband, Kevan, and daughter, Tiffany Fuselier; sisters, Doris Schwartz; Kate Worsham and husband, Robert; Autumn Dano and husband, Larry; and Bertha Childers and husband, Wendel. Private graveside services were held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
