Established 1948 Sherman Democrat October 18, 1976 Services were held Tuesday in Dannel Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Hattie D. Wyan, 63, of 119 N. Burdette, who was dead on arrival at a Sherman hospital Saturday. Dr. Tom Brandon of First Baptist Church officiated and burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Dannel-Horton-Barrett Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Terry Lee Land, Larry Gene Land, Wm. Earl Hanson, all grandsons, and Mike Weimer and Charles Weimer. Born in Kansas, she was the daugher of Edward and Jenny Huey Gilmore. She was reared and attended public schools in Ft. Scott, Kansas and was married to Earl Wyan on February 28, 1942 in Missouri. They had been residents of Sherman 4 years, having moved here from Sedalia, Missouri. She was a Baptist. She is survived by her husband; mother, Mrs. Jenny O. Gardner of Sherman; daughters, Mrs. Othello D. Land of Sherman; Mrs. Margie Earleen Jaso and Mrs. Lena Louise Morey, both of Los Angeles; brothers, Jack Gardner of Sherman and Leroy Gilmore of San Francisco; sisters, Elaine Maple of Amarillo; Maxine Stakn of California; Carol Ann Applegate of Omaha, Nebraska; Jenny O. Rainey of Nebraska City, Nebraska and Imogene Sheats of Oklahoma; and 9 grandchildren. Denison Herald January 2, 1980 Sherman - Earl Wyan, 86, died early today in a Sherman hospital. Graveside service was held Thursday in Cedarlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dannel and Horton Funeral Home. Wyan was born May 24, 1893 at Otterville, Missouri. He attended Missouri schools and married Hattie Deliah Gilmore February 28, 1942 at Nevada, Missouri. She died in 1976. He had been a resident of this area for 7 years and was a retired restaurant owners. Survivors are 3 daughters, Mrs. Othello Land of Sherman; Mrs. Lena Louise Mowry of Arcadia, California; and Mrs. Earline Jasso of Alhambra, California; sister, Mrs. Florence Knipker of Excessior Springs, Missouri; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
