Established 1948 Sherman - Funeral services for Tom Ray Williams were held at Wednesday afternoon, January 12, 2011 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Thomas Beall officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Mr. Williams, 78, passed away Sunday January 9, 2011 at Texas Healthcare Presbyterian-WNJ. Tom was born October 3, 1932 in Bonham, Texas, son of Joe and Emma Hassey Williams. He graduated from Wylie High School in 1950 and married Gladys Shields that same year. In 1964, Tom and Gladys moved to Sherman where Tom began work for Joe Williams and Sons Construction. In 1970, he opened Twin Cities Ford Tractor. Tom owned and operated that business until he retired in 1997. During retirement, Tom enjoyed working at Wal-Mart where he had many friends. Declining health forced him to quit Wal-Mart in April 2010. Mr. Williams was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church which he helped start in 1964. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gladys of Sherman; two sons, Phillip and wife, Malinda, of Sherman and Brad and wife, Susan, of Sherman; three grandchildren, Randy Williams of Sherman; Nick Williams and wife, Kelly ,of Palm Bay, Florida; and Heather Williams of Sherman; one great-grandchild, Coltyn Williams of Palm Bay, Florida; one brother, Leon Williams and his wife, Linda, of Sherman; one sister, Leta Key and her husband, Charles, of Azle, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Kimberly Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at PO Box 2680 North Canton, Ohio 44720. Sherman - Funeral services for Gladys Marie Williams were held Thursday morning, January 23, 2020 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Guille Seigler officiated. Mrs. Williams, 88, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center. Gladys was born August 10, 1931 in Farmersville, Texas, daughter of Basil and Laura Inez Kinser Shields. She married Tom R. Williams in 1950. Gladys worked for Texas Instruments in Richardson and Sherman in the early and mid-1960s. She worked at G.F. Wackers at Sherman in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Mrs. Williams also co-owned Twin Cities Ford Tractor in Sherman with her husband and was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery. She was a member of Trinity Baptist since 1964. Mrs. Williams is survived by two sons, Phillip Williams and wife, Malinda, of Collinsville; and Paul Bradley Williams and wife, Susan, of Sherman; 3 grandchildren, Randall Williams and wife, Amy, of Denton; Nicholas Williams and wife, Kelly, of Ft. Worth; and Heather Smith and husband, Kevin, of Dover, Delaware; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, B.O. Shields; 3 sisters, Juanita Williams, Geraldine (Jerry) Shields, and Betty Seigler; and granddaughter, Kimberly Williams.
